What Do I Need to Do Before Starting a Home Renovation Project in Livingston?

Before you start your next home project in Livingston, you will need to contact the town’s Building & Zoning Department to find out if a permit is needed. Requirement of a permit depends on the scale of your project. For example, kitchen cabinet replacement does not require a permit in Livingston, but a permit would be required if you were updating electric or plumbing in your kitchen or making structural changes. As far as bathroom projects, a permit is not required in Livingston if you are making a direct replacement (without a change in location) to your sink, toilet, or tub. Otherwise, a permit is required. The department works to review permit applications as promptly as possible. They will let you know once your application has been reviewed and approved, and once your payment is accepted, you should be able to begin working on your project.

It’s Time to Get Started.

Excellent
4.9
The entire team at RWC is top notch. Eric, Joe, Ashley and Chris were patient, professional, trustworthy and made us feel like we were part of their family while completing our project. Every employee of RWC that we interacted with during the project was respectful, cleaned up prior to leaving for the day and took the extra effort to make sure the job was completed properly. Thanks to everyone at RWC!
We used RWC to install 4 brand new windows in our home. This place is excellent and highly professional. We worked with Anthony and he was extremely knowledgable, honest, no-high-pressure sales, and managed all our expectations throughout. Upon installation, the installers were professional, friendly, clean, wore masks, and timely. When they left, I couldn't even tell they were in the house except for the fact that I had 4 brand new windows! I will be using RWC in 2021 to install our next set of windows!
We met with Anthony in early September at our home. We discussed what we envisioned to replace our old outdated front entry door. Anthony took measurements and suggested we visit the showroom where we could get a better idea of the doors they offered. We went and selected a door and received our quote a day or so later. We agreed to go ahead and a couple of days later Anthony came to our home with the contract. While there he re-measured for make certain every measurement was correct. Our door which had a custom feature came in late November. The installer (Brian) showed up right on time and the door arrived right afterward. They removed the old door and loaded it onto their truck for disposal. The complete installation went smoothly and by late afternoon we had a beautiful new door. Anthony came by in the afternoon to check on the progress. Needless to say we are very happy with RWC and have already recommended them to two different friends who need doors. We will definitely use them again.
