Project Spotlight: Double Front Door Renovation - Wayne, NJ

These beautiful double doors belong to a residence in Wayne, New Jersey. We are proud to be able to share this project with you and hope that you enjoy this photographic journey of the renovation.

From beginning to end, we knew this would be a challenge, yet one that would yield elegant and rewarding results. We've been relieving home improvement stress since 1959, and love when we're introduced to anything out of the ordinary. Double door redesign and  installation not only improve curb appeal but allow for easy access through a striking entranceway. Here are some pictures, from start to finish, so you can see the transformation. To start we’ll show you the detail of the original tread and trim:

This is what the interior detailing looked like before we began...

IMG_6432.JPG

We began the process for removing the doors and existing trim so that we could change the color. Outdated trim was removed and updated pieces were tested and approved, then finally installed after our team was finished with the stain.

Now the entrance was ready for the new doors to be installed.

And above is the end result. At first glance, it may seem as if the updates were minor but once examining all of the hard work that goes into this kind of job, you may develop a deeper appreciation for the aesthetics of your own front entry door. We suggest that you consult the experts when tackling any major renovation and would be happy to give you a free consultation in our walk-in showroom or simply over the phone, if you like what you see.

Project Spotlight - North Caldwell, NJ Coffered Ceilings

It’s not every day that we get to work on a project like this and we are extremely proud of the outcome. We’d like to share our journey by providing you with a photo gallery and detailed descriptions of the renovation.

This job was completed in conjunction with master carpenter, Ken Prehart, and Terriann Loverde, who is the Owner of Personal Space Interiors and an incredible interior designer. With Terriann’s immaculate design skills and Ken’s artistic ability and dedication to his craft, the job took on a life of its own.

The customer asked that the RWC team design and build custom coffered ceilings in the kitchen and dining room. They also asked that we build a floor to ceiling fireplace surrounded by a mantle and window seats.

So you have an idea of what we started with, here is a before picture of the kitchen and fireplace before we started building:

before island and fireplace.JPG

We definitely had our work cut out for us.

As you can see, the ceiling is flat and the mantle is bare. Here’s a close up:

before fireplace.JPG

Custom built columns were installed at the entryway to the home with wainscot paneling throughout the house, which tied all of the rooms together.

We built the mantle and window seats around the fireplace and left just enough space for a flat screen television to rest neatly inside:

In the end, the customer and RWC couldn’t have been more impressed with the final result.

“Creativity and vision at its best” says Joe Giampapa of RWC.

Project Spotlight - East Hanover, NJ Kitchen, Living Room & Dining Room Remodel

When this customer from East Hanover, NJ came in with architectural plans to remodel their second floor kitchen, living room and dining room, we jumped at the opportunity.

Our goal was to make the space open, flowing and continuous, however, it was one of the more challenging designs to create.

Execution and forward thinking were key.

The client requested that we rebuild the rooms so that she could see her children playing on the first floor, while she remained in the kitchen. How fun! And so it began…

We closed off the stairway from the kitchen and finished it off with newly stained and finished oak railings.

Ta-da!!!  ...

After pulling up the carpets, we exposed the original oak flooring which was sanded, refinished, and in some spots, replaced.

We added color compliments to the cabinetry to match the newly finished railings and flooring, and finished it off with new stainless steel appliances, under mount sink, recessed LED lighting and granite counter tops. This brought everything together!

Joe Giampapa of the RWC team says,

“We are extremely thankful and proud to have been the ones to take the lead on this project and yet again bring the homeowner’s dreams and wishes to reality.”

Another flawless job from the company that’s been relieving home improvement stress since 1959!

Project Spotlight - Bathroom Remodel (Tub to Shower Conversion)

Need Tub To Shower Conversion Ideas? Let RWC Help.

Although we didn’t change too much structurally with this tub to shower conversion, the renovations that we made turned it into a completely different bathroom.

We’re pretty sure that if the homeowners didn’t know there was work being done, they wouldn’t be able to recognize their bathroom after the RWC team got through with it.

What used to be a crowded space with just a bathtub, vanity and toilet, became a bathroom with a large shower with glass enclosure, and a ledge that can fit anything you would ever need including space to sit down.

The following are pictures we took of the space so that you can see the transformation for yourself:

The homeowners even took the time out to write us a thank you card! Check it out:

Project Spotlight - Westwood, NJ Bathroom Renovation

"Are we satisfied? YOU BET WE ARE!!!!!!!...."

It's testimonials like these that help us remember why we love what we do. And that's just the ending sentence!

This truly tear-jerking letter from home owners, Pete and Michele Fedorchak, deserves its own blog post.

So without further ado, let's hop into this awesome bathroom renovation from start to finish.

We did a full remodel that delivered the “WOW factor” that Pete and Michele were hoping for. This is what their bathroom looked like when we began:

Although the blue and red color scheme was charming, Pete and Michele went with a more modern look for their renovation.

We installed new tile…

Project Spotlight - Pompton Plains Kitchen Renovation

This kitchen renovation in Pompton Plains was a blast - literally. We had to knock out the walls and remove the existing patio doors. By doing this, we could build a wall and add a cabinet. We put cabinets underneath to give the kitchen a crisp and beautiful space.

RWC’s, Joe Giampapa, designed the layout. You can see in the pictures below how we combined Joe's vision with the wishes of the homeowners and the talent of RWC's staff to come up with an incredible finished product.

Enjoy!

Project Spotlight - Mendham, NJ Bathroom Renovation

Remodeling this bathroom was almost a two-in-one job. The adjacent rooms were together yet separate, forming a unique double bathroom - each serving its own purpose - yet one was unable to function as a full bathroom without the other. A fun challenge for the RWC team!

One room had the vanity which you can see below and also a shower enclosure (which you can't view in this picture) but take a look at the before shot so you can get an idea of what we were dealing with:

before 3 .jpg

The other room had a drop in tub and make up station which you can view in the photo below:

before 2.jpg

Although the layout is quite similar in the end result, the rooms look completely different. Here are several pictures of how the double bathroom looked after pouring our blood sweat and tears into it and we couldn't be happier.

Project Spotlight - West Orange, NJ Bathroom Renovation

With this bathroom renovation we headed out to West Orange, New Jersey to do a full remodel. We have a bunch of pictures to show you so let’s take a look from beginning to end so you can see the full job as it unfolded and developed into the beautiful finished product.

First we’ll start with the before pictures so you can get an idea of the space.

It may not look like much, but these blue walls and spackle are about to get real interesting….

The current layout was not conducive to the plans for the finished product, so we changed the layout. Why? To accept a bathtub as well as a shower enclosure. You can see it here.

PA060066 (2).JPG

We created a different vanity layout as well. The wall of the vanity is also covered in accent tile.

Project Spotlight - Towaco, NJ Bathroom Renovation

You know when you see a room get a makeover on TV and you’re like, “Wow that’s amazing, it looks SO MUCH DIFFERENT!”? This job is a classic case of that. After this bathroom renovation, the room was COMPLETELY transformed. These kinds of projects are our favorite and we’d like to share our enthusiasm with you by visually walking you through the process. Here are some pictures with descriptions so you can experience the transformation for yourself!

Just to give you an idea, this is what the bathroom looked like before. There was a jacuzzi and a smaller shower station...but not for long.
jacuzzi.JPG

old shower.JPG

We ripped out the jacuzzi tub to install a very large shower stall. You can’t lay down in this one but there is a seat!

guy in ripped out jacuzzi.JPG

Since we built a new shower stall, we had to remove the one that already existed on the other side of the room. We replaced it with a makeup station.

Time to show you the walls! We put tile 8ft up the entire side and used porcelain floor tile to make it look like wood.

And tah-dah! Here are the pictures of the finished product. We’re so proud of the results and glad to have another happy customer. The end results were well-worth the hard work.

Project Spotlight - Fairfield, NJ Bathroom Renovation

It’s hard to imagine, but this “bathroom” literally started out as just a toilet and a vanity. We were so excited to have the opportunity to work on such a major project and are overjoyed with the results.

It was obvious that the entire room would need to be re-built. We started by digging up the cement to change the draining system. Check it out!

The Great Cement Dig!.png

The next step was to add a shower stall. These pictures visually walk you through the process.

We moved the washer and dryer and custom matched the door and the wood paneling.

All of the hard work that went into this one paid off with the ending result. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and the homeowners share the same sentiment.
